01About these terms
These terms apply every time you book an excursion, a private tour or an airport or hotel transfer through not just tours. By completing a booking you accept them, so please read them before you pay.
In these terms, “we”, “us” and “not just tours” mean Not Just Tours, a company registered in Germany with its seat in 44649 Herne. “You” means the person making the booking, and you confirm you are authorised to accept these terms on behalf of everyone travelling with you.
We sell experiences in destinations around the world. We act as the organiser of what you book and work with carefully selected local suppliers — guides, boat operators and licensed drivers — who deliver it on the ground. Our full company and registration details are set out at the end of this page.
02Making a booking
A booking is confirmed only when you receive a confirmation email with a booking reference. Until then, the availability shown is not reserved for you.
- You do not need an account — guest checkout carries exactly the same protections.
- Please check every detail on your confirmation as soon as it arrives: date, pickup time, pickup address, passenger names and passenger count.
- Tell us straight away if anything is wrong. Details we cannot verify — an incorrect hotel, an unreachable phone number — are the most common cause of a missed pickup.
03Prices, payment and currency
Prices are shown per person or per vehicle, as stated on each experience, and include everything listed under “What's included”. Anything under “Not included” — most often tips, personal expenses and optional extras bought on the day — is payable locally.
- You can browse and pay in your chosen display currency. Your bank may apply its own conversion rate or a foreign-transaction fee, which is outside our control.
- Payments are processed by a PCI-compliant payment provider. We never see or store your full card number.
- Prices can change until a booking is confirmed. Once confirmed, the price on your confirmation is the price you pay.
- Where a deposit option is offered, the balance is due by the deadline shown on your confirmation. An unpaid balance may result in the booking being released.
04Right of withdrawal
Most things you buy online in the EU come with a 14-day right of withdrawal. Travel services do not. Under § 312g(2) no. 9 of the German Civil Code (BGB), there is no statutory right of withdrawal for leisure services supplied on a specific date or within a specific period — which is exactly what an excursion or a transfer is.
Where an experience does carry a statutory right of withdrawal, we tell you so before you pay and provide the withdrawal instructions and model form with your confirmation.
05Changing your booking
Plans move, and we would rather move with you than have you cancel. Contact us as early as you can and we will do our best to accommodate a change.
- Date or time changes depend on availability. If the new date carries a different price, the difference is payable (or refundable).
- Pickup address changes are usually straightforward up to 24 hours before your experience. A pickup outside the original area may change the price.
- Passenger numbers can normally be reduced up to the free-cancellation deadline; after that, the places are already reserved and are charged.
- Names can be corrected free of charge at any time. Please make sure they match the passport or ID your group will travel with.
06Cancellations and refunds
Each experience shows its own cancellation policy before you pay, and that policy is repeated on your confirmation. Unless the experience says otherwise, the standard policy applies.
- Refunds are returned to the original payment method, normally within 5–10 business days.
- Timings are calculated from the experience's local start time in the destination, not from your home time zone — a point worth checking when the two are hours apart.
- Not showing up, or arriving too late to join, is treated as a late cancellation and is not refundable.
- If a supplier cannot deliver an experience for a reason within their control, you receive a full refund regardless of the policy above.
07If we have to change or cancel
Occasionally we have to change an experience. Where the change is minor — a slightly different itinerary order, a comparable vehicle, a different guide — we will let you know but the booking stands.
If we make a significant change (a materially different itinerary, a different date, or a price increase) or cancel entirely, you may choose one of the following:
- accept the change,
- move to a comparable alternative, paying or receiving the difference in price, or
- cancel and receive a full refund.
Safety comes first. Weather, sea conditions, and decisions by port or aviation authorities can force a cancellation at short notice. In those cases we will offer an alternative date or a full refund, but we are not able to cover onward costs such as flights or hotel nights — which is why we recommend travel insurance.
08On the day: excursions
- Be ready early. Please be at the pickup point 10 minutes before the stated time. Drivers run to a schedule with other guests aboard and cannot wait indefinitely.
- Bring photo ID. Many sites, checkpoints and border crossings require it, and some destinations ask for a passport rather than a national ID card.
- Fitness and health. Each experience lists its physical demands and any restrictions — for example on pregnancy, back or heart conditions, or diving. Please take these seriously and tell us about any condition, mobility need, allergy or dietary requirement when you book so we can plan for it.
- Children must be accompanied by an adult. Minimum ages and child pricing are shown on each experience.
- Your guide's instructions exist for your safety. We may end an experience without a refund if a guest behaves unsafely, is under the influence, or puts others at risk.
09On the day: airport and hotel transfers
Give us your flight number when you book. We track the flight you booked and move your pickup with it automatically, so an early or delayed arrival does not leave you stranded.
- Airport pickups include 60 minutes of free waiting time from the actual landing time — enough for immigration and baggage in normal conditions.
- Hotel and address pickups include 15 minutes of free waiting time from the agreed time.
- If you cannot find your driver, call us before leaving the terminal or the meeting point. Leaving without contacting us counts as a no-show and is not refundable.
- Luggage. The vehicle class you book has a stated capacity. Oversized items — golf clubs, diving gear, surfboards, wheelchairs — must be declared in advance so we can send a suitable vehicle.
- Child seats are available on request and should be added at booking; local law on child restraints applies.
10Your responsibilities
- Travel documents. Valid passports, visas and any entry permits are your responsibility. We cannot refund a booking missed because of a document problem.
- Insurance. We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance covering medical costs, cancellation and your planned activities — several water sports need specific cover.
- Accurate information. Contact details that reach you while you are travelling, and an accurate pickup address, are what make a smooth pickup possible.
- Respect. Please treat guides, drivers, other guests, wildlife and heritage sites with care, and follow local law and custom.
- Damage. You are responsible for any damage you or your party cause to a vehicle, vessel or equipment.
11Our liability
We take reasonable care in selecting and monitoring our suppliers, and we are responsible for delivering the experience you booked as described.
We are not liable for loss or damage caused by events outside our reasonable control, including extreme weather, sea conditions, strikes, civil unrest, epidemics, or decisions by port, police or aviation authorities. Nor are we liable for indirect losses such as missed flights, missed connections or lost earnings.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where our liability is limited, it is limited to the total amount you paid for the affected booking.
12Complaints
If something is wrong, tell your guide or driver at the time — most problems can be fixed on the spot, and almost none can be fixed after you get home.
If it cannot be resolved there, contact us within 30 days of your experience at info@notjusttours.com with your booking reference and any photos. We aim to acknowledge every complaint within 48 hours and to resolve it within 14 days.
13Our content
The text, photography, itineraries, branding and software on this site belong to us or our partners. You are welcome to use the site to plan and book your trip; you may not copy, scrape or republish our content commercially without written permission.
Reviews and photos you submit remain yours, but you give us permission to display them on our site and marketing channels alongside your first name and country.
14Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as our services change or the law requires. The version that applies to your booking is the one published when you booked, so a later change never alters a booking you have already made.
The date at the top of this page tells you when it was last revised.
15Governing law
These terms are governed by German law. If you are a consumer resident in another country, this choice does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer law of your country of residence.
For consumers, the courts of your place of residence are available to you. Where you are a business, or where you have no general place of jurisdiction in Germany, the courts of our registered seat in 44649 Herne have jurisdiction.
